Privacy Policy

The short version: we keep it minimal. Payment happens on Stripe's servers, not ours. Analytics and advertising cookies only run with your consent via our cookie banner, we never sell data, and if you email us, we just… reply to your email.

Who we are

Self Assembled ("we", "us") is the trading name of Andrew Howe, a sole trader and the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. We operate selfassembled.co.uk and sell the Self Assembled UK Business Launch Pack.

What we collect, and why

When you buy the pack — payment is processed entirely by Stripe: they collect your card details, email, and billing information on their own secure pages, and we never see or store your card number. We can see your name, email, and purchase record in our Stripe dashboard, which we keep to deliver the product, re-send download links, provide support, and meet our accounting obligations. Legal bases: performance of a contract, and legal obligation (tax records, kept 6 years).
When you email us — we hold the correspondence to reply and provide support (legitimate interest). We delete old support threads periodically.
When you visit the site — our host, Cloudflare, processes visitor IP addresses transiently to serve and secure the site (legitimate interest in running a functioning, secure website).
Analytics and advertising (with your consent) — we use, or may use, tools such as Google Analytics and advertising pixels (for example the Meta Pixel and Google tags) to understand how the site is used and to measure and improve our marketing, including showing relevant ads to previous visitors. These only run if you accept them via the cookie banner, and you can change your mind at any time via the cookie settings link. Legal basis: consent.
When you download the pack — your checkout session is verified with Stripe to generate a time-limited download link. Nothing extra is collected.

Cookies

Strictly necessary cookies (such as those Stripe sets on its own checkout pages to process your payment securely) run without consent, as the law allows. Analytics and advertising cookies — used for site statistics, ad measurement, and showing relevant ads to previous visitors — are set only after you opt in via the cookie banner, and you can withdraw that consent at any time from the cookie settings link in the footer. Who we share data with

Our processors, used to run the service: Stripe (payments and receipts), Cloudflare (hosting, content delivery, and file download), and Google Workspace (our email). Where you consent to analytics or advertising cookies, data is also shared with those platforms (such as Google and Meta) as described in their own privacy policies. We never sell or rent personal information. We may disclose information where required by law.

How long we keep it

Purchase records: 6 years (UK tax law). Support emails: routinely cleared. Download links expire within 24 hours by design.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict our use of it, and receive it in a portable format. Email hello@selfassembled.co.uk and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled something, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version appears here with an updated date. Material changes affecting past customers will be emailed.
